John Halkett has tertiary qualifications in forest science and public policy. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Foresters. He is the managing director of Sydney-based Forestlands Consulting. The company has expertise in temperate and tropical forest management and forest-based industries. He is also a director of forest carbon company Leaf Carbon.
John has served on the Board of the Global Timber Forum and has been a member of the NSW Forest Industries Taskforce. He is also the co-publisher of Timber & Forestry enews.
He has held senior positions in government forest and conservation agencies in Australia and New Zealand. John has also worked in the United States, Canada, Papua New Guinea, across Southeast Asia, Myanmar, China, Chile and Africa. He has written numerous scientific papers and six books on tree related topics. His seventh book is currently in press.
Garry Millar has tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering. He is the Group Managing Director of SACL Pte. Ltd. – Singapore (SACL), and Managing Director of subsidiary Satstream (Australia) Pty Ltd. SACL operates three divisions focused on digital telecommunications, bio-fuel production and biopharmaceuticals. Satstream (Australia) specialises in the sale of telecommunications products and services and operates as an alternative supplier of large bandwidth on demand, private networks.
Garry’s career spans 30 years’ experience with a particular focus on identifying new technologies and developing a related business to satisfy an identified market need and then selling that business.
Garry has worked across the United States, Southeast Asia and Australasia. He has a competent understanding of the Southeast Asian forestry sector.
Campbell McInnes is well credentialled forest and timber industry professional having worked in the industry for more than 30 years. He is presently managing director of McInnes International (Mi Timber) a company he has owned since 2006.
Campbell has worked with many sawmilling and timber processing operations in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, USA, Indonesia and Canada. He has assisted client companies with sales, marketing, research, surveys and business direction.
Prior to establishing Mi Timber, Campbell worked for Asian Pacific Timber Marketing setting up and managing the company’s timber import wholesale operation as the NSW State Manager for 12 years. Campbell has an exceptional knowledge and understanding of the Australian and New Zealand timber product markets, demands and trends and has gained an outstanding reputation across the timber supply chain.
Chief Financial Officer
Chris Parker has been working in private businesses for over 30 years. His experience extends across a range of industries, including Import/export of major food commodities, freight, design, domestic and international education. Chris was CFO for a large manufacturing group for the past 12 years until they achieved a very successful sale.
His experience includes 21 years as CFO, business owner, Company secretary and CEO following an unexpected illness. Chris is passionate about business building, working with the senior management team to define strategies to achieve corporate outcomes. His track record with his past 2 organisations demonstrates clear and very profitable outcomes. Chris has built long term business relationships with colleges, business leaders and suppliers alike. He is a qualified accountant and NSW JP. He has previously held memberships with Australian Institute of Management and Finance & Treasury Association.
